Privacy Policy
Last Updated: November 1, 2025
π The Short Version
We collect nothing. We store nothing. We track nothing.
All username generation happens entirely in your web browser. We never send your inputs, preferences, or generated usernames to our servers.
Introduction
UsernameForge ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our username generation tools and services.
Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect, store, or process:
- β Personal information (names, emails, addresses)
- β Username generation inputs or preferences
- β Generated usernames or results
- β Browsing history or behavior
- β Device information or IP addresses
- β Cookies (except essential ones for site functionality)
- β Analytics or tracking data
How UsernameForge Works
Client-Side Processing
All username generation is performed entirely within your web browser using JavaScript:
- You select options (generation mode, customization settings)
- Your browser runs our algorithms to generate usernames
- Results are displayed to you
- Nothing is sent to our servers
Local Storage (Optional)
If you use features like "favorites" or "history" (when available), this data is stored locally in your browser using:
- IndexedDB: A browser storage system that keeps data on your device only
- This data never leaves your device
- You can clear it anytime by clearing your browser data
URL State Encoding
When you click the "Share" button, your current settings are encoded into the URL (e.g., ?mode=random&count=20). This allows you to share or bookmark your exact configuration. No data is sent to our servers - it's just a special URL format.
Third-Party Services
We Do NOT Use:
- β Google Analytics or any analytics services
- β Advertising networks
- β Social media tracking pixels
- β Third-party cookies
- β Marketing automation tools
- β Customer data platforms
Data Security
Since we don't collect or store any data, there is no user data to secure on our servers. Your generated usernames and settings exist only in your browser session.
Your Responsibilities:
- If you share a URL with encoded settings, anyone with that URL can see those settings
- If you screenshot or copy-paste generated usernames, you're responsible for their security
- Clear your browser data if you're using a shared computer
